National Academy of the Arts in Oslo (KHiO) is on the move. All new and continuing students receive a handbook at the start of the schoolyear to introduce them to regulations and other practical info about the college. This is the second time we´ve been asked to design the handbook. In 2010 KHiO is moving to new facilities and they wanted us to convey that through the catalouge. We decided to have a timeline running through the entire publication, talking about special events in the schools history, treating it as footnotes. It also functions as secondary pagination and can be seen as a navigation tool. In addition we had an inset section on yellow paper showcasing the building process of the new area at Grünerløkka, Oslo.
Format: 170×270 mm
Print: Grøset AS
Paper: Munken Pure & Colorit
The yellow booklet attached is a cool addition to the book and adds to the whole concept, by showing the construction of the new building.
Some more Swiss inspired work by Your Friends. The layout of imagery and small amounts of type stands out in this piece as does the usage of one colour. The book has a clean cut aesthetic and looks stunning.
